Phase 1

Due to consistent caustic acid spills inside the acid pump bays, the surrounding berms as well as the bay had experienced corrosion and deterioration. CSI neutralized all of the affected areas and removed all loose concrete. Following the concrete surface prep CSI prepared the steel area surface. CSI fabricated two (2) web stiffening plates to cover the acid damaged portion of the beam web and installed them in place using thru-bolt and a metal epoxy. The associated conduit was similarly prepped (SSPC 2) and coated with a two component, long life epoxy. After masking all newly coated steel surfaces a floor resurfacing system was installed. Within the overcoat window of the resurfacing system a high performance solvent free coating with chemical protection was applied as well.

Acid Pump Bays

A pump skid and a caustic acid pump bay also experience acid spills. CSI neutralized all of the affected areas and removed all loose concrete. The steel surfaces of the pump skid and bay were cleaned and profiled. A long life metal epoxy was applied to the steel surfaces. A floor resurfacing system was installed to the existing concrete. Within the overcoat window of the resurfacing system a high performance solvent free coating with chemical protection was applied..
